About

Welcome to the wild

Immersing oneself in the wild for months at a time is a challenge few would willingly take on. Battling harsh weather, surviving on dry rations for weeks, hauling heavy camera gear across rugged landscapes, and waiting almost motionless for hours in a hide are all part of the the daily on location life of a wildlife filmmaker. Yet when the clouds finally part and sunlight spills across the tundra, revealing hundreds of caribou wandering determinedly across rolling tundra, all adversities are forgotten. Suddenly, in the magic of that moment, all the hardships are made worth the experience.

This becomes even more powerful when it can be shared — when a story told through film and photography inspires others and helps protect the fragile ecosystems that sustain life. For over two decades, Florian has dedicated his life’s work to documenting the natural world in support of conservation. Together with his wife Emil, their team, and a close network of scientists, storytellers, and conservation organizations, he creates powerful visual narratives that connect audiences to the planet’s most vulnerable habitats.
